Forgotten Allies – Part 3 (Wednesday 26th October, 8pm Gametime)

Summary of part 2:

The citadel in Zul’Drak rocked over and over as, from the evening fog; a large army of the Argent Crusade had arrived to finally remove the renewed Scourge threat. Large catapults had been setup and begin firing at the necropolis causing those inside to brace as the Scourge powered citadel attempted to remain afloat.

It wasn’t long before the senior Death Knights looked down at the forming army, the Scourgelord shouting a taunt to the gathered forces. Moments later Gnomish aircraft flew up from the ground deploying troops to the rooftop of the Citadel.

Athrun led a counter-attack on the roof taking Lelara, Dyone and Zhuyan to repel the invaders. Once on the roof, however, it was clear that this was not an invasion. 8 warriors and four mages had begun setting up explosive devices on the four pillars that powered the levitation of the necropolis.

Wasting little time Athrun ordered the Death Knights to destroy the invaders – Dyone and Athrun were able to both defeat their pillars warrors and mage and disarm the bomb. However Zhuyan and Lelara failed, two of the pillars being engulfed by large explosions and breaking away, falling to the ground below.

While Zhuyan was critically injured, Lelara managed to use her frost skills to prevent harm to herself.

The Scourgelord and Necrolord arrived soon after for an update, the Necrolord taking the time to heal Zhuyan. What was clear, after the failed assault on the roof, the Crusaders had moved to plan B – they rallied their ground forces and began marching towards the teleportation device that linked the surface to the citadel.

With the Scourgelords blessing, Athrun ordered Lelara and Dyone to rally all the Death Knights, experienced and knew, and take them to the surface – the rebirthed Scourge army finally facing off against the living.

The battle was costly for both sides, Despite the Death Knights skill and tactics, the Scourge was forced to abandon the surface and set up a second line of defence within the citadel itself. The Crusaders began teleporting large numbers inside the citadel and, like on the surface, it wasn’t long until the bodies of both Death Knights and Crusaders littered the floors – the walls being repainted with crimson blood.

The tides seem to turn in favour of the Scourge until priests were teleported in and began mass resurrected the fallen Crusaders. Slowly the Scourge was being pushed back within their own citadel…

The Paladin commander teleported in and, deciding the Crusade had lost enough lives, ordered a retreat leaving a necropolis full of dead bodies. The estimated losses to the Crusade forces were 82% of their strength. The Scourge lost over 70% of its Death Knights reducing their army and combat strength greatly.

On the roof the Scourgelord, Athrun, Necrolord and Zhuyan were assault by blood elf rogues. Thanks to their skill and team work the group managed to defeat them. Moments later, as the team realised they could hear the sounds of fighting actually taking place within the citadel, the blood elf rogue that had taken the Orb or Arugal the other week showed himself. The Necrolord, with the Scourgelords blessing, duelled the rogue.

Clearly the Necrolord, fuelled by the blood and fury she possessed, was the better fighter and defeated the rogue. Quick thinking on her part also prevented the rogue from throwing the orb over the edge of the citadel, the orb rolling safely to the Scourgelords feet.

With the battle on the surface over and the one on the roof finished, Lelara informed the Scourgelord of the staggering loss of Death Knights the Scourge had suffered. Angered beyond all believe the Scourgelord condemned all the Death Knights, blaming each and every one of the survivors for their failure.

Even Athrun, the second in command of the Death Knights and loyal supporter of the Scourgelord, was blamed for the loss of forces. Each Death Knight, Athrun included, must now undergo some sort of test in two moons. Clearly whatever the test is will see the Death Knights able to serve once more… or locked in the shadow realm forever.

Part 3 –

Part 3 of Forgotten Allies will take place next Wednesday at 8pm gametime.

Due to the events from Part 2 we now have the Orb and also have defeated the group from Ravenholdt that sought to take it. However, as a result, we’ve lost a lot of our army in the process of fighting the Argent Crusade.

Part 3 shall involve:

- Formation of the new Wolfcult now they have access to the Orb
- Locating a new base for the Wolfcult to operate out of
- Finding out the name/location of the Paladin that led the assault against our citadel
- Planning our own assault to wipe out the remaining Argent Crusade forces that retreated and showing them not to mess with the damned. (Arthas wouldn’t let such an assault go unpunished, would he?)
- Small hints as to what to expect in the final chapter of Part 4

I think you should all be demoted to "Dog" and begin your life in the Scourge yet again, after all that that is how the Scourge worked.

One failure and you were executed!

A whole army of Crusaders went there? I don't know.. for me it feels it was a bit too large scaled. Because if a small group found dead, then it can be shrugged off. But if recieving a report of so many, not just a trivial amount of people dead, then well..

If i were a surviving Argent Crusader i would totally warn the other end of Azeroth even, because clearly the Scouge threat increased too much and not even a large army of my people could defeat them. But i would be a bit too paranoid one for sure, but still.

Maybe it's just me.
